About Us
Precision 3D Scanning is a Denver-area LiDAR firm serving architects, contractors, developers, and realtors across the Colorado Front Range. We capture millimeter-accurate, survey grade data and deliver floor plans, BIM and Revit models, square footage verification, digital fly-throughs, digital as-builts, concrete elevation heat maps, and FF/FL testing so projects move faster with fewer surprises.
LiDAR 3D Scanning
Our service is P.R.E.C.I.S.E
With 35 years experience in the construction industry, we bring a critical eye to precise measurements, 3d building scanning, and 3d point cloud technology.
PRoven Condition
Captured from reality, not assumptions or legacy drawings.
Reliable Data
Measured once and trusted across design, coordination, and construction.
Early Clarity
Delivered before problems surface, when decisions are still inexpensive.
Construct with Insight
Data shaped by real construction experience, not just software output.
Informed Decisions
Allowing teams to move forward with confidence instead of contingency.
Shared Truth
A single, measurable source everyone can reference and trust.
ELiminate Risk
Reducing rework, delays, disputes, and avoidable change orders.
About the Leica RTC 360 LiDAR Scanner
Our equipment measures 2 million data points per second with a span of 1 kilometer. It has the option to render low, medium, and high point cloud density, 360 degree HDR images. Providing data for concrete elevation heatmaps, beam camber analysis, clash detection analysis and conversions to Revit and other software tools.

Why Precision Matters
Construction problems rarely begin with poor intentions or lack of skill.
They begin with uncertainty.
Existing conditions are assumed instead of verified. Drawings drift from reality. Measurements are taken once and stretched too far. Decisions are made without everyone working from the same understanding of what actually exists. Over time, those gaps compound into rework, delays, disputes, and costs that no one planned for and no one wants to own.
Precision 3D Scanning exists to change that.
We believe construction works better when decisions are based on truth rather than assumptions. When reality is clearly measured and shared, teams align faster, conflicts shrink, and accountability becomes possible. Clarity does not eliminate complexity, but it removes confusion, and that changes how projects move forward.
At its core, our work is about light and truth.
LiDAR uses light to measure space. It reveals geometry, elevation, and alignment exactly as they exist. That technical reality reflects a deeper conviction: light exposes what is real, and truth brings clarity. When reality is visible, arguments lose their footing, grey areas disappear, and decisions can be made honestly.
In construction, ambiguity often benefits the wrong outcomes. It creates room for misinterpretation, leverage, and blame-shifting. It allows problems to surface late, when they are expensive and difficult to resolve. Measured truth disrupts that pattern. It limits assumptions early, when decisions still have flexibility and cost is still controllable.
We choose truth anyway.
How We Work
Precision 3D Scanning captures existing conditions accurately and delivers data teams can trust early. Our role is not to overwhelm projects with information, but to provide clarity where it matters most.
Every scan, model, and deliverable is shaped by real-world construction experience. Having worked from both the prime contractor and subcontractor sides, we understand how information must function in the field, not just in software. Data must be reliable, defensible, and usable by the people responsible for building, coordinating, and fabricating work.
Our process focuses on:
- Capturing verified existing conditions using light-based measurement
- Communicating accuracy, tolerances, and limitations clearly
- Delivering field-ready data that supports real decisions
- Providing a shared reference point teams can trust throughout a project
The goal is not perfection. The goal is measurable truth that holds up under scrutiny.
Founder
Precision 3D Scanning was founded by someone who has spent decades inside construction, not observing it from the outside.
Before starting the company, Joseph Trujillo worked from both sides of the industry, as a prime contractor and as a subcontractor. Over years of projects, a consistent pattern became impossible to ignore. Most problems did not come from poor intent or lack of effort. They came from decisions made without a clear understanding of existing conditions.
Walls were assumed to be straight. Floors were assumed to be level. Dimensions were assumed to be close enough. Those assumptions often held until they didn’t, surfacing later as change orders, disputes, schedule impacts, and strained relationships between teams that were all trying to do their work well.
Over time, it became clear that ambiguity was not just a technical issue. It was a structural one. Grey areas created room for argument, leverage, and blame-shifting. In some cases, they allowed people and organizations to profit from confusion rather than resolve it.
Precision 3D Scanning was founded in response to that reality.
Joseph’s conviction is simple and demanding, truth matters. Light brings clarity. And clarity makes accountability possible. LiDAR, which uses light to measure space, became the right tool because it aligns with that belief. It reveals what actually exists and removes the need to argue about it later.
That conviction is informed by the teachings of Jesus, who spoke of light and truth as the foundation for clarity, integrity, and honest action. This belief is not expressed through slogans or pressure. It shows up in accuracy, transparency, clear communication of limitations, and a refusal to hide behind ambiguity.
Precision 3D Scanning exists because construction works better when reality is clear and shared. The role of the company is straightforward but serious: to use light to reveal truth, so teams can build, decide, and resolve issues with clarity and integrity.
Why We Exist
We exist to bring measurable truth into places where ambiguity creates cost, conflict, and harm.
We exist to use light to reveal reality.
We exist to bring clarity to construction.
